Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are neurodevelopmental differences that impact an individual’s behavior, learning, and social interaction.

ADHD is characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning. ASD is characterized by difficulties in social communication and interaction, as well as restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities.

The assessment process for both ADHD and ASD typically involves a comprehensive evaluation that can take several hours and involve psychologists and other health professionals. The assessment may include interviews with the individual and their family, observations of behavior, and the use of standardized tests and questionnaires.

Several types of assessments are commonly used in diagnosing ADHD and ASD. These may include cognitive assessments to evaluate intellectual abilities, adaptive behavior assessments to measure everyday skills, and social-emotional assessments to assess social communication and interaction.
